The Importance of Posture and Alignment: How Chiropractic Care Can Help

The Importance of Posture and Alignment: How Chiropractic Care Can Help

In our fast-paced, technology-driven world, many of us find ourselves spending long hours hunched over computers or staring down at our smartphones. While these ongoing advancements have revolutionized the way we work and communicate, they’ve also taken a toll on our posture and overall alignment. Poor posture can lead to a myriad of health issues, from chronic back pain to reduced lung capacity, and even impact our mental well-being.

This is where chiropractic care can play a crucial role in helping us maintain proper posture and alignment. In this blog post, we’ll explore the importance of good posture and how chiropractic care can make a significant difference in your overall health and well-being. So, keep reading, and let’s delve into the ways that chiropractic care can help significantly improve alignment and posture!

The Impact of Poor Posture

Before delving into the benefits of chiropractic care, let’s first understand the consequences of poor posture:

1. Muscle and Joint Pain

One of the most immediate effects of poor posture is muscle and joint pain. When you slouch or sit with improper alignment for extended periods, it places additional stress on your muscles and joints. Over time, this can lead to chronic discomfort and pain, particularly in the neck, shoulders, and lower back.

2. Reduced Lung Capacity

Believe it or not, your posture affects your lung capacity and overall breathing. When you have a hunched or forward-leaning posture, your ribcage compresses, making it difficult for your lungs to expand fully. This can result in shallow breathing, reduced oxygen intake, and decreased energy levels.

3. Digestive Issues

Surprisingly, posture can even impact your digestive system. Poor posture can lead to abdominal compression, causing issues like acid reflux and constipation. It hinders the natural flow of food and waste through your digestive tract, potentially leading to discomfort and digestive disorders.

4. Mood and Confidence

Your posture doesn’t just affect your physical health; it can also influence your emotional well-being. Studies have shown that people with good posture tend to feel more confident and positive, while those with poor posture often report feeling more anxious and less confident.

5. Spinal Misalignment

Chronic poor posture can lead to spinal misalignment, which is when your spine deviates from its natural curvature. This can result in a host of health problems, as the spine is responsible for protecting your nervous system and ensuring proper communication between your brain and body.

Chiropractic Care: A Path to Improved Posture

Now that we understand the importance of posture let’s explore how chiropractic care can be a valuable tool in achieving and maintaining proper alignment:

Spinal Adjustments

Chiropractors specialize in spinal adjustments, which involve applying precise force to the spine to correct misalignments, also known as subluxations. These adjustments can help restore the spine’s natural curvature and improve overall alignment. When your spine is properly aligned, it relieves pressure on nerves and allows your body to function optimally.

Pain Management

Chiropractic care is highly effective in managing and alleviating pain associated with poor posture. By realigning the spine and reducing muscle tension, chiropractors can help patients experience significant pain relief, particularly in the neck, shoulders, and lower back. This can greatly improve your quality of life and daily comfort.

Improved Range of Motion

Regular chiropractic adjustments can enhance your range of motion by loosening stiff joints and tight muscles. This increased flexibility not only helps prevent future injuries but also allows you to maintain better posture with ease.

Postural Education

Chiropractors don’t just treat the symptoms; they also educate patients on the importance of good posture and provide guidance on how to maintain it in everyday life. This includes advice on ergonomics at work, proper lifting techniques, and exercises to strengthen core muscles that support posture.

Holistic Approach

Chiropractic care takes a holistic approach to health, addressing the root causes of posture-related issues rather than merely masking the symptoms. By focusing on overall wellness, chiropractors help patients achieve better posture and alignment as part of a comprehensive plan for a healthier lifestyle.

Customized Care

Chiropractic care is highly individualized. Chiropractors assess your unique needs and develop treatment plans tailored to your specific posture and alignment issues. This personalized approach ensures that you receive the most effective care possible.

Tips for Maintaining Good Posture

While chiropractic care can be immensely beneficial, it’s essential to take an active role in maintaining good posture in your daily life. Here are some tips to help you on your journey to better alignment:

  • Ergonomic Workstation: If you have a desk job, invest in an ergonomic chair and set up your workstation to promote good posture. Ensure your computer monitor is at eye level to reduce strain on your neck.
  • Regular Breaks: Take breaks every 30 minutes to stand up, stretch, and walk around. This helps prevent the development of poor posture from prolonged sitting.
  • Exercise: Incorporate exercises that strengthen your core, back, and neck muscles into your fitness routine. A strong musculoskeletal system provides better support for your spine.
  • Mindful Awareness: Be mindful of your posture throughout the day. Check-in with yourself regularly and make adjustments as needed.
  • Regular Chiropractic Visits: Even if you don’t have existing posture-related issues, regular chiropractic visits can help prevent future problems and keep your spine in optimal condition.

The Benefits of Chiropractic Care for Athletes: Improving Performance and Reducing Risk of Injury

The Benefits of Chiropractic Care for Athletes: Improving Performance and Reducing Risk of Injury

Athletes are constantly pushing their bodies to the limit to achieve peak performance. However, by doing this, they are putting themselves at serious risk of injuries and physical limitations. While conventional treatments such as medication and visiting the doctor’s office have long been the go-to options, many athletes are now turning to chiropractic care to enhance their performance and prevent injuries.

Chiropractic care allows patients to focus on restoring proper alignment in the spine and the musculoskeletal system, and its benefits for athletes are becoming increasingly recognized by the sports community. Are you an athlete and want to do whatever you can to reduce the risk of injury and enhance your performance at the same time? Then read more to get the answers you have been looking for.

The Athlete’s Body: Precision Instrument and Vulnerability

As an athlete, your body is like a finely-tuned instrument, skilled at achieving remarkable feats in your respective sports. However, the demands of competition and intense training take a toll on your physical well-being. If you are not careful, the repetitive movements, high-impact landings, and the overuse of various muscle groups have the potential to lead to misalignments in the joints and spine. You rely heavily on these components, and any misalignment will disrupt nerve communication, impair performance, and hold you back from training and competing.

How Chiropractic Care Works

Chiropractic care has been around for decades and serves as a non-invasive, drug-free approach directly focusing on the body’s natural ability to heal itself. A trained and certified chiropractor will use spinal adjustments and manipulations to restore proper joint function and realign the vertebrae. This unique and time-tested process will assist in the following:

  • Alleviating pain
  • Improving flexibility
  • Promoting overall well-being

Here are some of the key ways chiropractic care benefits athletes:

1. Enhanced Performance

When your spine and joints are optimally aligned, it will allow you to achieve a full range of motion while allowing you to function at your highest potential. The moment the body is completely balanced, the nervous system will be able to communicate easier and more effectively with muscles, enabling smoother, more coordinated movements. This will lead to improved

  • Speed
  • Agility
  • Overall athletic performance

As an added bonus, chiropractic care will also help you develop better body awareness, fine-tune your movements and gain a competitive edge against your competitors. Additionally, by reducing imbalance in your muscles, a chiropractic adjustment will help prevent compensatory movements that hinder your performance which can potentially lead to overuse injuries.

2. Faster Recovery

As an athlete, you want to be able to compete without having to rest from injuries. However, unfortunately for many athletes like yourself, they are almost inevitable in sports. Luckily, chiropractic care can speed up the recovery process and get you back to enjoying the sport you love in no time. With chiropractic care, athletes can get back to training and competition quicker and more efficiently by:

  • Reducing inflammation
  • Improving blood circulation
  • Enhancing the body’s healing abilities

Chiropractic adjustments also stimulate the release of endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers. This provides you with a greater sense of well-being during the recovery period. Additionally, by addressing the injury site and related compensatory issues, chiropractors can create a more comprehensive and effective recovery plan for athletes.

3. Injury Prevention

As an athlete, preventing injuries is just as, if not more, important as recovering from them. By visiting a chiropractor regularly, you will be able to identify potential issues and correct imbalances or weaknesses in the body before they become a more serious issue that will keep you off your feet for longer. The proactive approach that chiropractors use reduces the risk of acute injuries and long-term wear and tear on the body.

Chiropractors also offer personalized exercise and stretching routines to strengthen specific muscle groups and improve joint stability, reducing the risk of injuries during training and competition. By focusing on the underlying biomechanical causes of potential harm, chiropractic care provides athletes with a solid foundation for long-lasting physical health.

4. Drug-Free Pain Relief

Unfortunately, common chronic pain is something that many athletes are all too familiar with, and it often leads to them seeking the use of pain-relieving medications. A negative impact of this is that it is only a temporary solution and can often lead to abuse problems and eventually a dependence on medication just to be able to perform. But chiropractic care provides a healthier and lasting alternative.

Chiropractic care offers a drug-free alternative for pain management. By addressing the root cause of the pain through spinal adjustments, chiropractors can provide lasting relief without relying on pharmaceuticals. Additionally, chiropractic care is designed to improve the body’s overall function and well-being, promoting natural healing while reducing the need for pain medication in the first place. This drug-free approach avoids potential side effects and ensures that athletes can perform at their best without any hindrance from pain or medication-induced drowsiness.

5. Improved Flexibility and Range of Motion

You depend on flexibility and range of motion to excel in your sports. Chiropractic care will help enhance both by releasing muscle tension and improving joint mobility. This increased flexibility boosts performance and reduces the risk of strains and sprains. Additionally, regular chiropractic adjustments will help you maintain your flexibility as you age and engage in high-impact sports, preserving your athletic abilities and preventing mobility-related performance declines.

The Role of Chiropractic Care in Stress Management and Mental Health

Unfortunately, stress has become an innate part of modern life. From the pressures of work to the various demands of personal life, our daily lives are constantly filled with stressors. These take a toll on both our mental and physical well-being. Recently, there has been growing recognition of chiropractic care’s role in stress management and promoting mental health. Chiropractic care addresses stress-related issues, focusing on the connection between the spine, nervous system, and overall well-being.

Understanding Stress and Its Effects

Stress is the body’s response to any demand or threat, whether real or perceived. While some stress can be beneficial in motivating us to accomplish tasks, chronic or excessive stress without dealing with it will harm our health. Long periods of stress can lead to physical symptoms such as the following:

  • Headaches
  • Muscle tension
  • Fatigue
  • Digestive issues
  • Among others

In addition to the negative physical impacts, stress also significantly impacts mental health, increasing the risk of anxiety, depression, and other mental health disorders that cast an unwavering shadow over our lives.

The Role of Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care is a leading non-invasive healthcare discipline that significantly focuses on the relationship between the spine, nervous system, and overall well-being. Chiropractors are trained to assess and address misalignments and restrictions in the spinal vertebrae. This is also known as subluxations. These subluxations disrupt the proper functioning of the nervous system, which controls and coordinates all bodily functions.

Through spinal adjustments and other manual therapies, trained chiropractors design their treatments to restore proper alignment and mobility to the spine of their patients. By doing this, they enhance the nervous system’s ability to communicate effectively with the body’s tissues, cells, and organs. How does this help with stress? Well, improved communication assists the body to better adapt to stressors, which in turn promotes overall health and well-being.

Enhancing Nervous System Function

The nervous system plays a critical role in controlling stress responses in the body. When the spine is restricted or misaligned, it will interfere with the nervous system’s ability to function optimally. Chiropractic adjustments aim to restore proper alignment and movement to the spine, allowing the nervous system to operate without interference.

Studies have shown that chiropractic care can positively impact the autonomic nervous system, which is key in regulating the body’s stress response. Through adjustments, chiropractors can stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, promoting a relaxation response and reducing the activation of the sympathetic nervous system; this process is more commonly known as the “fight or flight” response. This balance between the two branches of the autonomic nervous system helps individuals better manage stress and improve their overall mental well-being.

Stress Reduction and Pain Management

While many associate chiropractic care with helping deal with a sports or work-related injury, it is extremely effective in helping with stress. One of the primary benefits of chiropractic care in stress management is its ability to reduce physical pain. When dealing with chronic pain, it significantly contributes to high levels of stress, which also negatively impacts mental health. Chiropractic adjustments will alleviate pain and discomfort that is associated with conditions such as:

  • Back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Headaches

Reducing this seemingly never ending pain through chiropractic care helps individuals cope better with stress and enhance their overall quality of life. Do you experience chronic pain? It may be contributing to your stress and mental wellness! Get help today with certified chiropractic care.

Mind-Body Connection

When it comes to healing the body, chiropractic care takes both the physical and mental into account. Chiropractic care recognizes the intricate connection between the mind and body. Stress is not only experienced mentally but also manifests physically in the body. Chronic stress can cause muscle tension and imbalance, further exacerbating physical discomfort and pain.

Chiropractors work holistically to address both the physical and mental aspects of stress. In addition to spinal adjustments, they may employ various techniques such as massage, stretching, and lifestyle counseling to promote relaxation, reduce muscle tension, and improve overall mental well-being.

Chiropractic Care for Stress Management and Improved Mental Health

While stress seems to always be surrounding us, waiting to pounce on us at any given moment, it is essential that we prioritize both our mental and physical well-being. Chiropractic care offers a holistic approach to stress management, focusing on the nervous system, spine, and overall well-being. By restoring proper alignment and function to the spine, chiropractic specialists will help their patients better adapt to daily stressors while promoting optimal mental health.

Through the reduction of physical pain, enhancement of nervous system function, and recognition of the mind-body connection, chiropractic care plays a valuable role in stress management. By combining chiropractic adjustments with complementary therapies, individuals can experience comprehensive support for their overall well-being.

Why Choose Chiropractic Care Over More Traditional Treatments for Stress Management

Stress isn’t an easy thing to deal with, and so many are searching for the right way to treat and provide ease and happiness in their life. For years, traditional treatments have leaned more toward medication. However, chiropractic care takes a completely different approach. Instead of the possibility of growing a heavy dependence on medication, chiropractic care promotes the body to heal itself. Additionally, each patient’s treatment is completely unique. Not one patient’s condition is the same, and a trained chiropractor will design an individual treatment plan for their patient to provide optimal results.

The Importance of Posture and Alignment: How Chiropractic Care Can Help

The Importance of Posture and Alignment: How Chiropractic Care Can Help

Are you among the many Americans experiencing chronic back pain, headaches, or fatigue? If so, it’s time to discuss the importance of posture and alignment! Your posture is so much more than the way it makes you look. It holds a major impact on your overall health and well-being. We will explore how chiropractic care will help improve your posture and alignment and why it’s so crucial to prioritize these aspects of your health. So, sit up straight, and let’s dive in.

What is Posture and Alignment, and Why is it Important?

Have you ever thought about how you’re sitting or standing? Your posture and alignment are vital to your overall health and well-being. Simply put, posture refers to how your body is positioned, while alignment refers to adequately placing your bones and joints.

Your body operates like a well-oiled machine when your posture and alignment are in sync. As a result, your organs function efficiently, and your muscles and joints are less likely to experience strain or injury. It’s incredible how something as simple as good posture can significantly impact your health!

The Consequences of Poor Posture

We’ve all heard the phrase “sit up straight” or “stand tall” at some point. While every time you hear that saying may seem like insignificant advice, good posture is essential for maintaining a healthy body. Poor posture, on the other hand, can lead to a wide range of health problems, including;

Back Pain

One of the most common consequences of poor posture is back pain. When you slouch or hunch over, you strain your back muscles and spine extra. Over time, this can lead to chronic pain and discomfort.

Headaches

Poor posture can also cause tension headaches or migraines. For example, when your neck and shoulders are tense due to poor posture, it can cause pain that radiates up to your head.

Fatigue

Have you ever felt more tired after a long day sitting at a desk or standing for hours? Poor posture can cause your muscles to work harder, leading to fatigue.

Digestive Issues

Poor posture can also impact your digestive system. For example, sitting or standing in a reclined position can compress your digestive organs, leading to discomfort and digestive issues.

Breathing Problems

Did you know that poor posture can make it harder to breathe deeply? When you slouch, your chest is compressed, making it more challenging to take deep breaths. Over time, this can lead to respiratory problems.

How Chiropractic Care Can Help

Now that you know some of the many dangers and problems that bad posture and alignment can cause, let’s look at how a chiropractor can help. Chiropractic care is a safe and effective way to improve posture, alignment, and overall health without needing medicine or invasive treatment. Chiropractors are trained to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal problems, which include poor posture and alignment. Chiropractic care can help by:

  • Reducing pain. Chiropractic adjustments can help reduce pain and tension in your back, neck, and other body areas.
  • Improving mobility. Chiropractic adjustments can help improve your range of motion and mobility, making it easier to maintain good posture.
  • Restoring alignment. Chiropractors can help restore proper alignment to your spine and other joints, reducing strain and tension.
  • Providing education. Chiropractors can teach you exercises and stretches to improve your posture and alignment, helping you maintain good posture over time.

Why Should You Choose a Chiropractor for Posture & Alignment Issues?

If you’re struggling with posture and alignment issues, you may wonder what type of healthcare professional can help you. One of the many options that many people choose is to go directly to a general practitioner or specialist. However, chiropractors are uniquely qualified to address these issues. Here are just a few reasons why you should consider choosing a chiropractor for posture and alignment issues:

Specialized Training

Chiropractors undergo extensive training in the musculoskeletal system and how it relates to the nervous system. This includes coursework in anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics. They also receive hands-on training in techniques such as spinal manipulation, which can help improve alignment and relieve pain.

Holistic Approach

Chiropractors take a holistic approach to healthcare, which means they consider the whole person rather than just their symptoms. They take a unique approach that focuses on finding the root cause of your posture and alignment issues rather than treating the symptoms. This leads to more effective, long-lasting results.

Non-Invasive Treatment

Chiropractic care is completely non-invasive, meaning it doesn’t involve surgery or medication. Instead, chiropractors use gentle, hands-on techniques to adjust the spine and improve alignment. This makes chiropractic care a safe and effective option for many people.

Personalized Treatment

Many other practitioners treating their patients recommend a general treatment option, medication, or both. This can lead to long-term negative impacts alongside a dependence on medication. Every person is unique, and chiropractors understand that. They take the time to get to know their patients and develop personalized treatment plans that address each of their individual needs. This has proven to lead to better outcomes and a more positive overall experience. No dependence on medication for pain relief, just one on one therapy and exceptional, long-lasting beneficial results.

Similarities & Differences Between Chicago Chiro Care Vs. Physical Therapy

Similarities & Differences Between Chicago Chiro Care Vs. Physical Therapy

Chicago Chiropractic care and  physiotherapy have several similarities and differences. It is crucial that patients are aware of these before deciding on which route they need to take for maximum treatment. Both chiropractors and physiotherapists assist patients by managing and treating different injuries and chronic pain conditions. However, there are a few differences, including:

  1. Chiropractic care treats the nervous and musculoskeletal systems. Physical therapists focus on the study of soft tissue (muscles, tendons, and ligaments).
  2. The moment an injury, deformity, or illness occurs, a chiropractor will adjust or realign the spine with their hands and other instruments. Some physiotherapists can perform spinal manipulation and muscle release techniques; however, their training in spinal manipulation is much less than a chiropractor.
  3. Using several techniques, chiropractors find degenerative changes, disc injuries, and subluxations in the spinal column. Physical therapists work planning to restore mobility after an injury.

The goal is to minimize the negative forces while strengthening the body’s capability to adapt to the surrounding environments and risks.

It may be easy to pass constant aches off as growing pains and could take years to discover that these symptoms are actually signs of a malfunctioning nervous system. Nervous System Function and the Craniosacral Rhythm in Children

Improving Child Development with Chicago Chiropractic Care

This nervous system and craniosacral rhythm need to be assessed as early as directly after birth as the birthing process can be extremely stressful on their body. Numerous children who have colic, ear infections, developmental challenges, and asthma, among many other conditions, have a compromised craniosacral mechanism and spinal subluxations impairing their nervous system at a young age.

Early detection of these problems will allow the body to be corrected and prevent further damage to the nervous system as your child grows older. Check-ups at the doctor’s office may not be enough, and when these symptoms are ignored, the result will lead to negative adaptations down the road. Ensure that your child’s body grows properly, allowing them to succeed both mentally and physically throughout their entire life.

Chiropractic Therapies for Kids

The nervous system of a child is in control of controlling every other system in the body. It handles blood flow along with brain function bone growth and overall plays a pivotal role in ensuring the growing body is healthy and running efficiently. Alignment of the spine also plays a crucial role in the health of a child as it can affect development.

It’s common for patients to consider chiropractic care as an option that’s only available for adults, but we are here to tell you that it helps patients of all ages. Bumps and scrapes are common things that babies and children are exposed to and chiropractic care ensures that none of these issues cause significant damages down the road. Advanced Spine & Sports Care provides chiropractic care in Chicago, IL, that’s centered around using therapy to correct issues before a child fully develops. Whiplash injuries caused by a car accident will lead to long-term consequences, especially when left untreated. Constant neck and back pain are some of the most common results from whiplash. Whiplash injuries are something that needs to be treated right away, as a result it is important to seek Chiropractic care after being involved in an auto accident & experiencing whiplash symptoms.

This forceful and sudden jerk of the neck will impact your day to day life immensely; here are some telltale signs that you may have experienced whiplash:

The most common problem after a car accident is chronic headaches as a result of whiplash. This injury often occurs because of a car crash, but could result from a similar injury or trauma. Whiplash is described as a person’s head unexpectedly moving forward and backward from an external force. Often causing constant and/or chronic headaches that start from the base of the skull to the forehead. Whiplash Neurological Symptoms - Chicago Chiropractor

Whiplash associated disorders (WAD) is the term used to describe injuries sustained as a result of sudden acceleration-deceleration movements. It is considered the most common outcome after “noncatastrophic” motor vehicle accidents. The term WAD is often used synonymously with the term Whiplash however whiplash refers to the mechanism of injury rather than the presence of symptoms such as pain, stiffness, muscle spasm and headaches.

Whiplash Symptoms may also Include:

  • Tenderness or pain in the shoulder, upper back or arms
  • Tingling or numbness in the arms
  • Extreme Fatigue
  • Dizziness or Vertigo
  • Blurred vision
  • Ringing in the ears (tinnitus)
  • Sleep disturbances
  • Irritability
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Memory problems
  • Depression

After a motor vehicle accident, your spinal cord becomes extremely vulnerable. When you are experiencing pain and other symptoms of whiplash after an automobile accident, immediately contact Advanced Spine & Sports Care for an assessment.

Proven Advantages & Historical Benefits of Chiropractic Care for Automobile / Car Accident Injuries

Proven Advantages & Historical Benefits of Chiropractic Care for Automobile / Car Accident Injuries

When you are involved in a car accident, even if it was minor, failure to see a chiropractic specialist at Advanced Spine & Sports Care will result in chronic conditions that can take weeks, months, even years to heal. Not only will the healing process be long and painful, but it will also cost you thousands of dollars in medical treatments. It doesn’t cross the mind of many people to seek a chiropractor after an accident. However, chiropractic care is the absolute best decision for most people due to not needing surgery or medicine to alleviate pain and correct the injury.

Surgery and drugs are normally the go-to treatments for anyone injured in an auto accident, but the better alternative to generic treatments is one that focuses on the body’s natural healing process; chiropractic care. Our trained professionals specialize in treating accident injuries and getting them back on their feet, feeling better than ever.

Benefits of chiropractic care after an accident:

Reduced Scar Tissue & Relieve Discomfort

Scar tissue in the muscles develops as a natural response to trauma. Unfortunately, these tissues can bring unimaginable discomfort to the area around the scar tissue. A chiropractor will focus on the scar tissue and break it down to relieve pain and discomfort.

Natural Pain Relief

Instead of turning to medication to relieve pain temporarily, chiropractic care triggers the release of pain-relief hormones in your body through:

  • Manipulation
  • Spinal decompression
  • Chiropractic adjustments

These hormones within your body manage and relieve pain, just like when using medication. This way, chiropractic care eliminates the worry and risk of addiction to painkillers.

Less Muscle Inflammation

Within your body, there is a natural substance that fights tissue infections and injuries. Interleukin 6 (IL-6) is released with the assistance of Spinal decompression, chiropractic adjustments, and spine manipulation. Through this process, any muscles or ligaments that have suffered from inflammation can be targeted to relieve body pain.

Restored Motion & Accelerated Healing Process

Inflammation will restrict the circulation of blood, oxygen, and nutrients to the area that was affected following an auto accident. With this restriction, the healing process is slowed down.

Lower Back or Neck Pain in Chicago, Following an Auto Accident

Seek Chiropractic Care After an Auto Collision

Have you recently been in an accident with your vehicle but feel fine? You need to see a chiropractor right away! Auto accidents, no matter how severe, are detrimental to the overall health of one’s body. Sometimes you may feel fine, but in reality, your body is suffering. Here are a few reasons you should see a chiropractor right after an auto accident:

It doesn’t matter how fast you are going:

You don’t only get whiplash from high-speed crashes. Even accidents as low as 12 mph can cause whiplash and severe internal injuries.

Don’t pay attention to how your car looks:

After an accident, you may feel fine, and your vehicle may look normal, but this does not mean that you are in the clear. It’s estimated that more than half of whiplash injuries happen without little to no damage to the vehicle.

Symptoms of whiplash do not always occur immediately:

It is normal to be a bit sore after a car accident, and you may feel like that is the extent of it, but the reality is that whiplash symptoms can take days and even weeks to become present. That is why it is essential to seek chiropractic care immediately after an accident.

Lower Back Exercise Progressions – Helping Our Patients In Every Way Possible

lower back pain exercises to treat lower back pain

To keep on providing our patients with the best back pain care in Chicagoland, we remain a strong social media presence to assist all types of injuries. Recently we have been performing lower back exercise progressions to help support the natural curvature of the lumbar spine. Excessive sitting & slouching will compromise your posture & can lead to a loss of curvature to the lumbar spine. When this happens, it can lead to numerous different ailments including; spinal degeneration, disc bulges and herniations, sciatica and more. So on week one we will take a gentle approach by simply pushing the torso up off the floor to put the lumbar spine into extension.

One should think about pushing up slowly until their range of motion is met (no sharp pain or discomfort) & then slowly return to the floor. To create an arch in the lower back, be sure to think about raising your chest up as you push, this will promote more curvature in the spine. Over time the lower back should loosen up and range of motion should improve.Perform these daily (preferably first thing in the morning) for 15-30 reps for the best results. Be sure to check in weekly as we continue our series of exercise progressions for the lower back.

What Are The Main Factors That Cause Rotator Cuff Pain?

To develop a plan for you, we at Advanced Spine and Sports Care need to know about your day-to-day life and navigate what could have caused the pain you are feeling. The majority of cases regarding rotator cuff pain is gradual and not necessarily one specific trauma that you have gone through. • An Increase in Age
  • Insufficient Muscle Strength While Completing Certain Tasks
  • Some Medications
  • A History of Smoking and Drinking

For younger patients in good health, a natural reason for these types of injuries and pain is often related to the stress they put on their tendons during sports.
